Clear Creek Produce's Beginning

Matt Britt, owner and operator of Clear Creek Produce, learned his love of farming from his grandfather, Gayle Crowe, at an early age. He would spend time at his grandparent's home in the Clear Creek community in Burgess, Mississippi on afternoons after school and on weekends. On these days, Britt would tag along with his grandfather to ride the tractor and to help feed the cows (the name of Britt's business would later be coined after these profoundly impactful times with his grandfather. Mr. Crowe would go on to be with his Heavenly Father in late 2017). After high school, Britt attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and worked at Diamond International. In 2008, when the recession hit, Britt was laid off and would follow his farming passion to Starkville, Mississippi. Britt would graduate from Mississippi State in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in agronomy. Today, Britt has hit the ground running. He works full-time farming specialty crops, like tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries and watermelons, turning his passion into a career and fruitful business.

Matt and his girlfriend, Morgan, are pictured here after his graduation ceremony at Mississippi State. Britt was amongst the top of his peers graduating with a degree in agronomy.

In the next 5 - 10 years, Britt hopes to take Clear Creek Produce to a higher level. He is working to build Clear Creek Produce a proper shipping facility. The warehouse will have a place for several 18-wheelers to be able to pull up and be loaded. The ultimate goal is to be able to ship produce to large scale grocery stores, nationwide.
